Recently I saw a Mech close for under $600. This is a bit odd because it doesn't bid for what it BIN's for. When its sold as a BIN it typically sells at $900 give or take $100. There was an auction before that closed around $750 and recently its closed even lower at about $550. Seeing as I paid full retail plus for mine I am a bit upset with its performance but it's hard to blame people for not wanting to purchase the card.
1. It doesn't really fit into any sets other than TP ultra or TP1 holo sets (which are insanely expensive and very hard to put together). 2. It isn't really aesthetically pleasing. 3. Very few collectors remember playing with it as it was almost useless by the time it was available in TP3 and was unreachable as a TP1 release. 4. By the time LON came out it was useless. 5. It hasn't demonstrated good investment potential.
I kind of knew that it would eventually drop in price but I imagined it might hold up at least but I think this adjustment is fair. TP4 Royal Decree is valued at about $400 and TP5 Luminous Soldier is about $175/$200. Even TP6 and TP7 are around $250 at max. So given that the remaining TP ultras (TP2, TP3 and TP8) are extremely hard to get and Mech really isn't I can understand why this card is correcting.

Important to note, that psa 10 that sold for $520 was heavily misgraded lol to the extent that you could send it back to psa and they would compensate you for it. It should have been a psa 7 or 8 with the amount of wear on it and that odd coloring/stain on the front. Considering that, I believe the typical psa 10 still sits around $800 realistically. Most recently, 2 copies sold this month on eBay, one for $900 and one for $800. A PSA 9 sold this week for $400. so take that $520 auction with a Grain fo salt!

I didn't look at the condition so that a really good note to make about PSA card grades and the discrepancy involved. I didn't see the $400 ($350 after fees) one for sale either. So thanks for the note. I'll make sure I note it in my PSA Price Guides. That said, I don't know how much movement this card has in store for 2019. I don't expect a lot out of it personally. I expect it might simply solidify at $1,000 and sit there for the remainder of the year give or take a few sales over and above. I paid $900 for mine and figured I was getting a fair deal. I also saw one previously sell for $720 and brought that to the seller who was determined to get $900, and now that I think about it I think I paid $850.
