Draft Intro Below
Few sets come around that are as popular or have an impact like Pharaoh’s Servant. Sets like this are a blessing and a curse for many players and collectors. For those seeking exciting and new adventures in the dueling arena, this set gave players everything they asked for and more. For those looking for a reprieve from high-end collecting and large price tags, this set can be intimidating.
Undoubtedly, Pharaoh’s Servant’s release brought a reckoning with it. The many cards that came with it birthed a new era in Yu-Gi-Oh! play once released that was appreciated and is fondly remembered. “Appreciated is an understatement,” chimed in Pharaoh’s Servant fan and GEM MT 10 collector Fadi Faraj. Faraj is an expert collector of niche and valuable Yu-Gi-Oh! GEM MT 10s and whose Instagram penname is Iraqi_Duelist. “This set was the genesis of so many powerful monsters and trap cards that not only were immediately employed in play but also became so well-known they generated their own deeply rooted fan bases.”
Pharaoh’s Servant, abbreviated PSV on the cards in the set, was the fourth set released in what known as Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! It has a modest 105 cards in it and is a composite of two Japanese sets, Curse of Anubis (CA) and Thousand-Eyes Bible (TB). Like all Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! sets, it has 22 foils and 17 rare cards. All other cards in the set are considered commons, although a few commons are alleged to be short-printed (those cards printed less than others of the same rarity).

Updated Intro:
Few sets come around that are as popular or have an impact like Pharaoh’s Servant. Sets like this are a blessing and a curse for many players and collectors. For those seeking exciting and new adventures in the competitive arena, this set gave players everything they asked for and more. For those looking for a reprieve from high-end collecting and large price tags, this set was and is still intimidating.
Undoubtedly, Pharaoh’s Servant’s release brought a reckoning with it. Powerful trap cards as well as others changed the landscape in Yu-Gi-Oh! forever. The face of that power was singular - Jinzo, a card that became so popular that an entire fan base formed around it. The many cards released in Pharaoh’s Servant, including Jinzo, birthed a new era in Yu-Gi-Oh! that is fondly remembered and appreciated by every fan.
“Appreciated is an understatement,” chimed in Yu-Gi-Oh! aficionado and GEM MT 10 collector Fadi Faraj. Faraj is an expert collector of niche and valuable Yu-Gi-Oh! GEM MT 10s and whose Instagram penname is Iraqi_Duelist. “This set was the genesis of so many powerful monsters and trap cards that were not only immediately employed in play but also became so well-known they generated their own deeply rooted fan bases. Jinzo, the trap-killer, is among those.”
“PSV is perhaps one of the most memorable sets ever released,” said Yu-Gi-Oh! expert Ian Douglas. “Its release heralded a change in play and collectability that would propel the Trading Card Game to new heights.” Douglas is a highly respected expert and collector in Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! known on Instagram and YouTube by his pseudonym The_Old_School_Expert.

NEW UPDATE
Few sets come around that are as popular or have an impact like Pharaoh’s Servant. Sets like this are a blessing and a curse for players and collectors. For those seeking exciting and new adventures in tournament play, this set provided everything anyone could want. For those looking for a reprieve from high-end collecting and large price tags, this set was and remains intimidating to the average Set Registry member.
The many cards released in Pharaoh’s Servant birthed a new era in Yu-Gi-Oh! that is fondly remembered and appreciated. Powerful trap cards as well as others changed the strategic and collecting landscape in Yu-Gi-Oh! forever. The face of that innovation was singular - Jinzo, a card that became so popular that an entire fan base formed around it.
“Appreciated is an understatement,” chimed in Yu-Gi-Oh! aficionado Fadi Faraj. Faraj is an expert collector of memorable Yu-Gi-Oh! GEM MT 10s and whose Instagram penname is Iraqi_Duelist. “This set was the genesis of so many powerful monsters and trap cards that became so well-known they generated their own deeply rooted fan bases. Jinzo, the trap-killer, is among those.”

Pharaoh’s Servant, abbreviated PSV, was the fourth Yu-Gi-Oh! booster set released among the first 11 sets known as Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! It is a modest 105 cards and like all classic sets is a composite of two Japanese sets, Curse of Anubis (CA) and Thousand-Eyes Bible (TB). It has five different rarities, 22 foils and 17 rares. The remaining cards in the set are considered commons, although a few commons are short-printed (cards printed less than others of the same rarity). See accompanying chart.

Some Body:
If Pharaoh’s Servant was an Earth in itself, Jinzo would be its Atlas. Outpacing every card in the set by more than three times, it continues to grow with other monumental Yu-Gi-Oh! cards like one of the many impressive peaks in the Himalayas. Growth for this card is sure bet and well beyond Vegas odds!
This card carries with it Pharaoh’s Servant itself, but even with this burden it is not immune to printing deficiencies. Many come off-center or with scratches reducing its 1st Edition value from $1,200 in GEM MT 10 to $250 in MINT 9 or even less in NM-MT 8. Its popularity in older tournament formats and subsequent use continues to affect many copies.
For those brave enough to open a 36-pack box, the secret rare found inside is Imperial Order. Although this card is paired with Jinzo as a secret rare, it is far from its equal. Typically, it has a home around $250 in GEM MT 10, a pittance comparatively. Of course, with only 36 in 1st Edition GEM MT 10 this secret rare has plenty of potential for growth since it fits into several set registries and collections. There are plenty of secret rare collectors, and this card is essential.
