I am curious. I have some very sought after yu-gi-oh cards. These cards have not seen the light of day since I collected them starting 2002. I used to sell many singles on ebay between 2002 and 2007 (around 25000) when I gave it away and yugioh entered a quiet patch after being bigger than ben hur for the first few years. I had collected the first 10 booster sets, most promos and the first 4 tp sets to name a few. In late 2007 I sold off the first 2 tp sets and my IOC set to a friend but still have a few singles that were not a complete set in tp1 and 2. Anyway back in the beginning cards that were m / nm were probably never pack fresh perfect like today. People took cards from packs and they were rarely sleeved immediately and the early printing from upper deck wasn't always the greatest. PSA or Beckett grading seems more modern day for yugioh. No one back in the day would have considered grading these cards. Anyway of late I have thought about grading cards. Watched many videos. I tune in regularly to yugiohtube hence how I found this place and love his market updates. The thought of sending my cards from Melbourne where I live to PSA or beckett makes me nervous but I know it is the only way to give them their maximum value. Anyway I understand the grading process but have never had cards graded. It seems to get a 10 a card would need to be almost perfectly centred, full gloss, no major marks etc. I am curious what my LOB-001 Blue eyes white dragon would get. It is a 1st Edition 1st print not that PSA diffentiate between 1st Edition 1st print or 2nd. The 1st Edition 1st print cards weren't the greatest printed cards out the pack. I picked up my 1st Print from a young guy a Indy Gencon 2003. I won't say what I paid but good price in todays market lol. The card is well centred, front of card perfect, corners perfect, rear couple of small marks noticeable under very bright light but at a normal look the card looks mint and if I sold today raw i would state it as NM. The marks are not from playwear and only under close bright light scrutiny would you pick a couple of minor marks on rear. All my cards have never been played with ever and always stored in sleeves in Ultra Pro albums. I also have an SDK-A001 1st Edition which would undoubtly get a 10. It is perfect in every way taken straight out of my booster box that I had stored unopened for 17 years. The 1st Edition SDK-A001 would be arguably the lowest print ratio in the world as the A was Australia / New Zealand market place which was the smallest population of people. There is only 1 PSA 9 rated LOB-A001 so if I was to send this card and get a 10 it would be a POP 1 - PSA 10. Anyway I am interested in peoples opinions about sending cards of this nature to PSA from Australia or do I just hang on to my raw collection. I also have Red Eyes B. Dragon and Dark Magician in LOB 1sts. I would consider them cards mint condition on close inspection. Anyway interested on what the value of these cards would be raw vs PSA. I notice 1st Edition 2nd prints LOB-001 with asking prices of over $5000 for a PSA 10. Anyway some feedback would be good and I can supply pictures of many good cards from the oldest sets. I ending up hanging onto a mixed collection of full sets 1sts and Unlimited to fill the sets but I have many of the better cards in first that are in pristine condition for their age. Many I pulled from packs myself so those cards were straight from pack to sleeve and never handled again 16 - 17 years ago. Some I purchased as singles to fill sets but always purchased as M/NM cards. Anyway good to hear from people and you never know I might be open to sell a lot of good stuff if the price was too tempting as grading them would be time consuming, risky and expensive. I have included some pics but limited to 1mb per image. Any white marks on the rear in the pic is just dust the camera picked up magnified on the outer of the hard case.
