Hey guys! I'm new to the forum, but wanted to get your opinions on Magic Ruler cards and where they're headed.
A lot of the cards in this set seem a bit undervalued to me given how recognizable some of them are (Relinquished, Toon monsters, MST), but I also feel like they're being held back a bit by how many of them there are graded. I'm inclined to pick some of them up but I'm worried that my bias for liking these cards is influencing my decision.
What do you guys think about the set compared to PSV, MRD, etc.?

I haven’t paid super close attention to prices of MRL over the years, mainly because I haven’t had to pick up anything from those sets in a while. But having just taken a look at prices, things have definitely gone up since I’ve been buying. My personal opinion is any time you’re able to pick up things from the first era in mint condition, you should. Regardless of set really, but I could understand you wanting to prioritize the first year of sets. LOB and MRD have shot up in price already and I think MRL is next. I’d be real surprised if price increases didn’t happen according to order of set release.

I am under the assumption that until recently there was a lot of sealed product still available to be purchased and crack. As that dwindles prices will naturally go up.

Thanks - yeah, I still see a little bit of sealed product out there, but you're right that the prices should go up as those diminish over time. In the long run I also think that the set is definitely a good investment, just the question of what time to buy.
I'll probably try to buy a Relinquished for now and see what else pops up

I've been saying this for a long time. MRL is so undervalued. In terms of PSA 10 populations though, if you look at them, they aren't really that high. They're actually lower than both MRD and LOB in terms of ultras. I honestly just think MRL has been given a bad stigma because of the box flood a year or 2 ago. So really you can't beat mrl in terms of value. Super nostalgic cards.

Hey, I'm new to this forum too, new to investing in Yugioh, and returning to yugioh from a 10 yr hiatus, but from what I know, wasn't there a box flood of magic ruler that happened not too long ago? From what I seen on sold eBay listings on 1st edition Magic Ruler boxes, the prices are about $750(March 8th-March 17th). I've also noticed that the most expensive cards in the Yugioh Legacy sets are worth less than the boxes themselves(Please correct me if I'm wrong, like I said I'm new). I know blue-eyes toon dragon, relinquished are super nostalgic, sitting almost at $500, $230-$250 respectively, Toon Mermaid, Summoned Skull($150-$175) and steadily rising, but do we see it rising much more due the low prices of magic ruler boxes? Personally, I don't think we will see exponential or explosive growth in Magic Ruler, but hey how can one go wrong buying Ultras like Toon Mermaid, Toon Summoned-Skull at $150-$175.
