Hello all! Here is a video of Dark Magician Girl that’s currently at PSA... on the back you can see that it has residue which I assume is from the thick backed penny sleeve it was in. Other than that and the fact the card is slightly tilted (right side border is thinner on top than bottom) the card is in great shape. My question is, for future reference is there any way to remove or manage the residue on the back of the card? I couldn’t seem to find help anywhere on the web... also, how badly does this effect the grades in your guys experience? Video: drive.google.com/file/d/1g1krgrTOHYo07kjiuLXHy-5hay3qh_cY/view?usp=drivesdkPicture of back: drive.google.com/file/d/1g1krgrTOHYo07kjiuLXHy-5hay3qh_cY/view?usp=drivesdkEdit: PSA graded it a 9, don’t know if it’s because of centering or back. I’m guessing back because I’ve seen many tens that have this tilted look. Gonna resubmit just cause I think it’s worth it. So if anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it

I think it got a 9 because of the wax stain on the back. Usually, a small wax stain is allowed for a 10 but on a lot of MFC cards (even for pack fresh cards), they have a larger wax stain than usual and will drop it to a 9. Unfortunately I haven't found any successful way of removing these wax stains. Some sets I noticed where holos come right out of the pack with pretty large wax stains are SOD, RDS, MFC, and PSV

I tried to clean it before sending it in but got super nervous. I’m still going to try and send it back, and if anyone can come up with a way to remove it, then bingo.

Yeah it most likely is, though a larger one than usual. Mfc especially has issues with cards coming straight out of pack with these stains

LMK if you find a way to remove them. As far as I know, they're permanent and can't be removed

Really old bump, but has anyone found a solution for these? I have the same issue on so many of my cards that were pack fresh, and I think PSA would disqualify a gem mint

Not necessarily removing the wax, but at least cleaning up the wax blemishes and smoothing it out a bit. Not sure if that makes sense.
I've had most of my cards in penny sleeves/top loaders, and they all have a bit of unevenness in the wax in the back that I think BGS/PSA would definitely ding for surfaces
